About
China, Seen Through Beauty is an independent, English-first cultural atlas. Instead of listing attractions, it reads China through four lenses — architecture, clothing, food, and scenic beauty — one place at a time, with seasonal context for each.
What makes it different
- Documentary imagery only. Every photograph is individually licensed — Creative Commons or public-domain works by named photographers, catalogued in a public-facing media ledger with attribution and license links.
- Seasonal structure. Each entry carries four seasonal moments, because the same place is a different subject in April and October.
- Three languages behind the scenes. The atlas is edited in English, Chinese, and Japanese; English is the published language.
- Sources, not endorsements. Every entry links to official government sources for trip planning. Links are references, not live travel data.
Who builds it
The atlas is researched, written, and illustrated by a small independent studio working with AI-assisted research pipelines and human editorial review. All factual content is checked against official sources; imagery rights are verified before publication.
